The issue with 'Amélie Poulain' is that I saw it in France when it came out and back then, there was such a hype around the movie. In France, everybody was talking about it all the time and it was rather annoying. Finally, I saw it and it didn't think it was 'the best movie ever' like everybody was saying. In my opinion, 'Delicatessen' by the same director is not so well known but much better.

I don't consider The Three Colors trilogy French movies. They are very good movies but they are not really French, especially the second movie which takes place above all in Poland.
'La Haine' and 'Le destin d'Amélie Poulain' are two good movies but really overrated, in my book.
